This new stand. I may have missed it but have they got planning permission for it yet? I know they started the build without it but has it now gone through? Or do they still not have permission to actually let anyone in yet?

And, with that roof! Why did they make it so high? Looks ridiculous.

Harry, think about it,high roof, better view of the ball.

No chance. Nevil Road will sell for far more than the £2.50 the s*gs would pay for it.

It won`t stop them demanding the council buy it for them though.

If the cricket ground could be sold for development it would raise a lot more than Rovers could afford in competition with property prices.

I also reckon a county cricket ground would likely be more welcome in nimbys back yards compared to any league football team so they would be more likely to move.

If this ever went ahead (I doubt it would personally) the folks who bought apartments so they could enjoy watching the cricket from their balcony would be somewhat annoyed.

Has he mentioned "Huge club, massive fan base, took over 40k to Wembley"?😀

No, but he did come out with these two crackers today...

"Without talking at length about the neighbours [Bristol City] they've shown what is achievable of football clubs in Bristol and traditionally, historically, Bristol Rovers is as big a club as you get in this city."

"Bristol Rovers could become a bigger club and a sustainable Championship club."

Weird as anything, not in the least as the main club in the 6th city being placed 32nd in the country ain't saying anything at all

Saw that, frankly it is bizarre.

Presumably he’s talking about the late 1950s, because that’s the last time they consistently got higher crowds.

Might as well bring up the Second World War, just a very odd thing to say.

This must be why it took so long to make an appointment.
They’d agreed terms with Taylor weeks ago but he had to go through an intense programme of indoctrination and a crash course of ‘gas logic’.
It’s the only explanation as the bloke was always a very reasonable guy previously.

Only club in Bristol to regularly have 2000 fans locked out of away games and to take 55,000 to Wembley despite the official gate for both clubs being only 52,000

agree could even turn out to be better than our choice..........we`ll see.

So your logic here presumably then is you would have been delighted if Pearson’s replacement was a bloke sacked after a 5-0 defeat that left them 4 points adrift of safety in our division?

Ok then.

A club that averages HALF the attendances of our women’s team?

Unfortunately I do think he’s a decent appointment for them though.

Certainly looks like a crash course in 'gas logic'.

Haven't played above tier 3 for 30 years, including one in 'division 5'

Knocked out of the FA Trophy (!) at home to Bath City

Haven't averaged attendances in 5 figures since 1976

Temporary grounds, tents and 'stands'

Record signing was made in 1992

But,yeah, as big as any club in the city.

FFS.

I wouldn't have wanted Taylor, but nor am I overly enthused about Manning being our head coach.
