Port Said Red
Listening to Pearson's post match interview last night he made the point that he is responsible for the stewardship of the young players, and would sometimes make decisions the fans wouldn't understand. With that in mind, I was surprised that he continued with Alex Scott last night, considering that the players were having cryo recovery sessions at 1am on Wednesday after the Reading game. I thought Scott was a shadow of the player we have seen before and did little of the good defensive work he has done in previous games.
mozo
I think irrespective of age the same science will apply to all players. Their game output and training output is monitored and they have the stats to tell them that player x isn't right. I think our team yesterday were all different levels. Scott is playing well but struggling to adjust to the physical side of a brutal pro league, whereas Massengo played at the same level throughout and clearly is physically adjusted.
