old_eastender Posted August 21, 2021 Report Share Posted August 21, 2021 For the last two seasons and again this season, it seems that 4 times out of 5 when we have a throw-in in the middle or attacking 3rd, we end up losing possession. The Swansea goal came from just such in instance. Whereas opponents seem to retain possession 4 times out of 5. Surely this is something some basic coaching could correct. Nickybee Posted August 21, 2021 Report Share Posted August 21, 2021 My perception is that we usually go for the headed flick on from throw ins which means a low percentage of keeping the ball. As OE says the Swansea goal came from exactly that outcome. Even the long throws from attacking areas were relatively unsuccessful last night. Far better to try to go to feet where possible; appreciate the other team are trying to stop that but other teams seem to be able to do it… Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
