We don’t ‘ enjoy’ Div 3 or 4 either because we are always considered big fish in that pond and if we beat the likes of Gillingham, Colchester or Northampton it’s expected because we are a much bigger club and when we lose, which we often did, it was totally embarrassing. We rarely enjoyed Div 1 either , come to think of it, once the thrill of the occasional win and being beaten regularly by the big boys wore off . In fact I’m not sure why we even bother. Oh come now Major, there was that one game where we beat some team that we enjoyed. I think it was a long time ago...

We were flying and needed that last kick over the line. Stoke away will always stick in the throat. We went there as ready for promotion and left there as chumps happy to take the playoffs.

Part of our problem is wanting to be Southampton then Swansea then Fulham then Brentford and a plethora of other clubs in the middle - and just being the second rate version of them. I would like to know what we are working towards as a club - at the moment that seems to be a team that does a high press when it can.

We definitely need our own identity rather than copy the model of others. We need to find a style and stick to it no matter who we are playing. I'm fed up seeing us change formation, players, tactics etc to counter the "strengths "of the likes of Blackpool or Barnsley or Preston etc. When we line up at home we all look at each other and ask what formation we are playing this week. It appears most games that the players don't know either!
