Just copy Conte 5 - 2 - 2

Just watching Spurs first game under Conte. 3-1 up after 30 mins.

But just looking at the shape it’s strikes me we could just copy him.

Decent goal keeper - Tick

3 at the back - Atkinson, Kalas and Baker  - Tick

2 Holding midfielders - Williams & HNM - Tick

2 High up Fall backs - Pring & Taner - Half a Tick both have the energy and pace but sure about quality.

2 mobile wide front players who can tuck in - Wieman and Seymenyo - Tick Also Scott possibly.

1 Centre forward - Wells  - Tick

Pace in the team - Tick

Energy - Tick

If we stick with the shape we would need at least a Striker, Winger and even maybe a central defender to cover injuries.

Would at least be entertaining to watch and looks better than some of the formation and players we have had in

Looks like it would be more solid and also be built to play on the break.

I was at Birmingham. HNM is not a holding midfielder.

Ok, let’s copy a system laid out by one of the top coaches in the world for some top class / world class players - the only club round here who compared themselves to Tottenham Hotspur FC is da famous roverzzzz who claimed ‘only Tottenham had made more stadium improvements than them’ when the Sags added a canopy over the hospitality entrance, a new carpet or two and some white plastic chairs dotted around ... whilst Spurs built the world’s best stadium ... you cannot choreograph comedy quite like that!

I often felt that one of LJs biggest failings was trying to emulate the big manager’s style of play. He never seemed to realise that they were able to play that way because their squads were at the absolute pinnacle of footballing intelligence, fitness and skill.

Steve Holland, here talks about Conte's tactics at Chelsea and starts with how they forced overloads. But right at the end he says something that made me think of us. He talks about how other teams saw the threat and matched up the back 3/5, which was tactically sound but they had to do this with only one training session so hadn't mastered it. Well... reminds me of us, sometimes changing to a back 3 but not looking secure with it.
