Bedred31
Having experienced numerous relegations since 1972, avoiding it this season is fantastic, frankly. Always easier to stay up than win promotion. Next season could well be worse, so try and appreciate what we’ve got now.

Now they need to win 6 in 6 or 5 and a draw and hope for a better goal difference to overtake us. Not going to happen. It’s not going to happen, but the stato in me just has to point out it’s impossible for Barnsley to catch us on points and then not have a better gd than us. Reality is, that first season back in the Championship was a shit-show that had the finger prints of many people all over it. The players weren't good enough, the investment sporadic and the manager failed. Ashton’s return in Dec 2015 was to do the hatchet job…SL wouldn’t do it himself. There are many. 1) Youngsters who have played regularly this season will be better next with the experience. 2)Chance to offload certain players who are draining the wage bill. 3) Possibilty to have some funds from. Sell ons or one or two sales of ‘ star’ players like Semenyo or Massengo. 4) The great unknown that is football where suddenly a shit team clicks and gets success. 5) It’s only fun. 1
