Gazred
Decent 45. Impressed with Naismith playing out from the back and good set piece delivery. Sykes has done well but those high wing backs will leave us vulnerable. 2 Quote Link to comment

ExiledAjax
As the first 45 of the season, away from home, I thought that was ok. Couple of nervy moments, possibly lucky to get away with a penalty shout, but overall pretty solid and respectable. 1-0 up and it's seemingly just about deserved from xG of 0.83 - 0.53 in our favour. A solid opening to build on. 1 Quote Link to comment

Engvall’s Splinter
I can see us switching Sykes in for Scott and bringing on a defensive wing back. 2 Quote Link to comment
Mr Popodopolous
Thought we started very well although Hull started to come back strongly- number of blocked shots although the big save by Bentley aside, importantly not much at the target. Solid away performance so far but we need to be a bit careful about how much pressure we absorb. Martin has won 3 fouls (I think) in that half- useful way of relieving pressure, keeping the ball a bit higher up the pitch, They quite possibly could have had a penalty. Hopefully we can reimpose ourselves second half. 1 Quote Link to comment

Davefevs
1st half summary. In the main, decent, started well, Hull has a spell of possession, then we got through it, scored when wed got back on top...and then weathered a bit of pressure in final minutes. +'s: Sykes, Naismith, Weimann -'s: None James and Williams dove-tailing nicely. 6 1 Quote Link to comment

I was just thinking the same. Be surprised if Scott stays on for the full match given he missed the start of pre-season. Bring Wilson on at some point in the second half and move Sykes forward. 1 Quote Link to comment

Certainly don't look like the team of strangers they could have been. They've improved through that first half, have broadly neutralised Scott, and conceded from a great set piece that they defended poorly. They look ok. 1 Quote Link to comment

Just hope we can be consistent with our spelling this season. If we slip up and let a Y or a Z get in there then we could be in trouble come May. 1 Quote Link to comment

AshtonRobin21
Enjoyable first half. We look organised and everyone looks to be on the same wavelength. Mark Sykes and Kal Naismith look very good, they definitely improve us. Some good touches from Alex Scott in the number 10 role. The Right wing back role has some serious competition this season. Encouraging signs. Quote Link to comment
