Barrs Court Red
Mentioned to someone the other week (after the Leeds game) that I wonder if he’d reached the “players downed tools” stage of the Chelsea manager lifecycle. Abysmal against Leeds, poor against West Ham and beyond hopeless last night. Edited September 7, 2022 by Barrs Court Red

RedRock
Watched a bit of the game last night. The attitude of the players indicated to me something was up. A lot of hit and hope, and just a shrug of the shoulders to errors, with little to no team effort or support. This is the outcome when you don’t work on building a team and a ‘we’re all in it together’ mentality. Fortunately for us, Pearson appears to place a great deal of weight on ‘team’ both on and off the pitch. Probably, on reflection, why he was so upset with JLs comments about progression last year which, while an accurate analysis of where we were, was not helpful to building this team ethos.

TonyTonyTony
Watching their performances, he has clearly lost the players. When players down tools, then its game over. Same at Leicester. Dont feel too sorry for him though - im sure 5 or 10 million pay off will stop his tears 1

Thought they'd have gone for a bigger "name" tbh So did I but the reality is that there aren’t many top quality managers around. Problem for any new Chelsea manager is how long they’ll get in the job. It’s not a long term project similar to Nige at City. They’ll need to start winning almost immediately. erndogz
Their ladies manager probably has a stronger CV than alot of names mentioned in regard to the job. Still a few years off a female manager in the "mens" game though.
