Never to the dark side
an army of 5,500 Burnley fans are heading to Preston on tuesday night There are only two return services after the game 22:26pm which is scheduled as a thre car unit and the 22:57pm service is a bus replacement service The distance from Burnley to preston is 25 miles, its not as far as we have to travel on Saturday with a round trip of over 400 miles See all you railway spotter hoardes on the 17:20pm from Burnley back home and don't miss it other wise you might end up with a night in Birmingham 1

Something similar happened in a match against Sheffield Wednesday, played one Saturday afternoon during a period of heavy snowfall. I can’t remember the exact problem, but an announcement was made along the lines that the Wednesday fans would have to leave early to catch the last train back to Sheffield or else they would be stuck in Bristol. Cue the chants of ‘One Bed and Breakfast, there’s only one Bed and Breakfast’.

Could not get the car out of the garage for snow and ice. No trains running. The chanting you referred to, so I was told at the next home game, was after it was announced on loudspeaker that the M5 was shut from Gloucester to Birmingham.
