Chelsea game

Definitely a pen and definitely a red, by the letter of the law.

I assume it’s Robbie Savage commentating? Says he gets his shot away - yea completely off-balance because he’s been pulled back twice, frustrating as hell when a ref gives “advantage” for an off-balance shot.

No attempt to play the ball so if it’s a foul it’s a red by the rule book.

Football has become a joke if that's a pen and a red card.

Should book himself for time wasting as well.

Reminds me of one of Blatter's better lines.

After that game in 2006 between Portugal and Holland which had double figures in bookings and maybe 3 sendings offs he said to some foreign T.V. channel:

"I consider the referee was not at the same level as the participants, the players.

I think there could have been a yellow card for the referee".

Is certainly quotable but...

Do we think this approach is a positive, leaders not blindly defending officiating or should they keep quiet in the public domain about it? There is something refreshing about the former but it's pretty unorthodox to say the least!

From the two games I’ve seen v Chelsea over the past week. Tomori doesn’t look anywhere near good enough for England…

I know it’s a low bar at the moment back there.

Fortunately the England scouting team will have judged him based on more than a few snippets from TV...

Conor Gallagher simply isn't an elite footballer.  No idea what's going on around him. A good Villa or Palace player

A very good Palace player... Proved that already last season.

Now he's getting his first proper chance at an elite club.

He is 22 years old. I'm not surprised he isn't an elite footballer yet. He has shown signs he could become one though. Patience.

You don't expect sensible comments from Savage, of the rocking horse brain brigade?

He thought it was OK, when a player, to stud the opponents in the stomach region without being penalised!
