What do we make of this then? Are we trying to move away from being associated with alcohol and hence rebranding?

I expect this is what it is. Have to bring every aspect in line with the PC brigade. Not that our mascot has much importance.

Scrumpy was looking a bit skinny. Perhaps he's gone to get help putting some weight back on...

Seems pointless having two though.

Seeing a lot of clubs over various sports having a male and female mascot

Robyn the robin though…. Wonder how much someone got paid to think that one up

I hated his traffic cone nose. Probably one of the worst designed things I’ve ever seen.

You might say his cone-tract has been torn up.

Nice that they have mouths as part of their beaks rather than Scrumpy's weirdly separated beak/nose and creepy grin.

Anatomical correctness is absolutely key when designing an anthropomorphic human sized bird costume.

At least we know this was one of the three not to get offered new terms & a contract, can tick off the list. Should help with FFP at least, another one off the wage bill; someone cleverer than me can tell us what impact it'll have with amortisation etc.

Surely we need a third gender neutral one too in these times ?

I'm never sure about mascots anymore

They're either brilliant to wind the opposition supporters up or stay out of the way and entertain the youngest supporters

One minor criticism....

The club should have done this a month ago and flogged loads of those as soft toys for Christmas etc

If they have a child out of wedlock it could be a Robin bastard.

Makes a lot of sense. The mascots themselves look far better than scrumpy, and it’s nice to have Robyn too, particularly with the growth of the female game.
A good move all round imo.

Apparently, the winning entry was submitted some time ago by Mr M. Ashton from East Anglia.

A worthy winner no doubt.

However, he was not tempted by the life-size mirror which was the main prize, and will be shortly submitting an invoice for £100,000 . . . . . .

. . . allegedly.

RIP Scrumpy, thought the club were trying to reduce the wage bill! Replacing one mascot with two, must have brought Ashton back for a spot of consultancy work.

So Downsey finally saw Scrumpy off!?

He invited Scrumpy to go to Qatar with him, dobbed him in for something and he is now languishing in a prison in Doha.

That`ll teach him not to nick someone`s cap.

More authentic than the facelift scrumpy below….what effing Robin has a beak and a mouth.

Yep, didn’t like his hat being knocked off…only one outcome after that.

RIP the Real Scrumpy - I loved your real cone beak.

Qatar won't have a bloke dressed up as a bird.

Whatever happened to cheerleaders at the football?

Apart from Crystal Palace it seems like a thing of the past
