We made a last minute decision to go today, both SC holders bought tickets online but no email with ticket’s attached, any suggestions folks? Have bought tickets before with no problems.

Thanks for that, that’s what I was thinking, but it’s just a bit amateurish!

Check the very bottom of the email. You don’t need to print it either. Mine is on the receipt email and doesn’t indicate there actually is any attachment but it’s right at the bottom past frequently asked questions

Ah I see, you usually get a receipt one and separate one but mine is merged. I phoned up just a moment ago on mine. Took about 10 mins in option 2 supporter services

Yes, no need to print if you’ve got the pdf’s in the email.

Typically if you lose or can't access your email on matchday you can go ticket office nr South Stand and pay a fiver for a print. If the email just never came they should print for free but who knows.

Sounds like this was a one off tech problem though so all good.

Exact same thing happened for the Lincoln game. No ticket on the purchase email and got to Bristol last minute and had to do a full lap of the ground at kick off (from Dolman B Block) to get my ticket from the ticket office. I’m annoyed that not only is this a bad omen after how badly that game went but I also said to the person in the ticket office “is there some way to test this to make sure this doesn’t happen again in future to people” and they stared blankly at me and in that moment in my soul I already knew exactly the same thing was going to happen the next time.

To be fair everything including each turnstile is throughly tested before EVERY match. However like most businesses and homes nowadays they rely heavily on internet/technology and if this goes belly up just about everything is affected. believe me they are as frustrated as anyone

They currently cannot print tickets, all tickets are having to be hand written. Expect delays

Well there you go guys. There's your fix. Grab a pen, grab a sheet of A5, and scribble away.

Can confirm the tickets today are hand drawn. It’s unlike anything experienced ever even in non league. It’s like you’re carrying a prescription from a doctor to the steward. I estimate all fans will be in their seats by about 14.30 on Tuesday.

Presume you've given yourself a seat upgrade? Straight to a box if I were you.

went to watch LECCO day after England played in Milan last September

about 350 England fans had the same idea

high ranking officer just stood by the turnstiles with a blank book of tickets and literally just signed his name after you give him 10 euros to gain entry

Why aren't they just loaded onto our season cards or whatever?

Yep. I don’t see the point of a physical membership card. You can’t use it to have your tickets uploaded on it (like used too), you can’t use it to get discount or points.

Attendance: 99,000

I was walked in through a gate not a turnstile so attendance figures will be skewed as I wasn't counted, unless the steward was counting. ?

In all seriousness the queues 10 mins ago for the ticket office were massive

Go back and tell them to count you. Then go and tell the next steward. Then the next. Etc

Just got our written ticket , will keep it as a memory of 1950 comes to Ashton gate ?

good news is quite a few must have bought tickets late as a longish queue, bad news incompetence rules ?

You might laugh at the tickets being handwritten, but they worked. I would be interested to know what people could suggest as an alternative with no IT, internet or printer with very short notice?

Yep, too easy to lambast the club.  Shit happens, and from a few I spoke to they were impressed by how it was handled.

There us of course a slightly humorous side to seeing handwritten tickets, but imagine we have had to turn people away. ??????

3 options really :

1) Delay kick off by 15 mins.
2) Get all hands to the pump at the ticket office - 20 people writing out the paper tickets would clear the queue a helluva lot quicker than 2!
3) As I understand it, when getting to the ticket office, you had to show proof of purchase. Why not just let people do that at the turnstile and let them in. They knew there was about 13,000 spare seats in the ground, just let people in and let them sit where they want.

Point 3 exactly

I can tell you i wasn’t impressed having missed 25 mins or so of the first half to literally be given a piece of paper with information i already knew on it, there was never going to be a single issue with seats today, as you say there were 13k empty seats in the ground. Why couldn’t you just show the confirmation at the turnstile and then be let in?

Point 1. To be honest I did expect this to happen. I guess it was down to the stadium safety officer and the police who felt it wasn't necessary. I believe the Ref also has some say in this.

Point 2. All available staff regarding ticketing were scheduled to work yesterday, intact they had many more staff in than usual. They did not know about any technical issues until they arrived at the stadium and started work. More staff were in as there are generally many more pay on the day for a cup match,it was pure luck/coincidence staff were in when this happened.

Point 3. Perhaps, but the turnstile I went through had I think 4 turnstiles plus the side gate, so potentially 5 queues. This was manned by just one steward. Maybe there weren't enough stewards to put one on each queue and delays would have been there instead, dunno.

I’m guessing a lot of people didn’t even have proof of purchase?

Possibly - not sure how you would have got your ticket without the proof though as these were print at home tickets and I’m sure the large majority would have had proof. Still, it’s done now so time for me to get over it ??

@RedMwere the guys in the ticket office able to check the supporter system, even if tickets themselves couldn’t be printed?

I believe so I gave supporter Id number and ticket person looked on the system and the system told him the exact seats I booked. Although I could only do this as the confirmation email had come through. This didn’t come through instantly, about 11 30 so guessing some fans wouldn’t of had this when they got to the ticket office. Maybe they could show their bank card they purchased with and match it from that?

That was gonna be my next point…how would you tell from a bank / card statement that the line saying “Bristol City MOTO” or whatever related to this game….other than the price I guess??.
