Group already won, Newcastle already out

Strangely the side I saw had Acey in it & no Taylor-Clarke?

Withdrawn in the warm up perhaps? Or just a mistake on an earlier planned team, the one below was posted more recently with Porton on the bench

Nice to see Marlee Francois back playing. I think it's his first start for a while and he's highly rated. Hopefully he can kick on now as I think he could fit quite nicely into this new system we are utilising as a wide striker/winger.

Thought much the same, his brother is certainly pulling up trees at Fulham too

Looks like a change to 4-3-3, the same as the first team ?

Haven't seen Francois mentioned for a while, has he been injured ?

Long term injury

Finished 1-1 with Newcastle equaliser in last minute.

For many years nobody at City seemed to worry about the under 18 and under 21's consistently losing.

So it's good to be getting more wins than defeats and getting the Academy boys used to winning. When you are a winner, nobody likes to lose. What a change in mentality. NP influence?

Finished top of the group with Everton next in the knockout stage.

One of Everton's best U21's players Cannon has joined Preston on loan, was a big reason they got out of their group, winnable game for City.

Perhaps by then Palmer-Houlden will be ready to score that one too.

Be his son in the side by then.

Perhaps he is in the team for Saturday

He went back to Guernsey on loan, just after Xmas, I don't think he's back yet.

His 10th of the season for the u21s.  Belly has 13.

Is Brian Tinnion actually some sort of Dr Frankenstein character, building strikers in a lab... ?

Seeing Massengo in there kinda show how far his career has slumped since that 10m euro bid in France.

Can't believe we can't move him on tbh.

I think it's been pretty clear for the last year that he's got his future mapped out. Bristol City will have zero influence in that, so he'll be picking up his salary until 30/6/23. And if you see him in our first team squad before the end of the season, know that there is a Hell, and that it has also just frozen over.

Watched the u21’s 5 times this season and not been impressed with him once, slow, give the ball away just generally looks sluggish.

I think you must have been watching a different player, that's not Palmer-Houlden at all.

Agree, I like the look of Seb.  Got a decent all round game imho.

Watching the Preston v Spurs game I can see why Cannon was a “bit too good” for u21s!  Looks very decent.  Rock-on-Tommy!
