Nova Scotia, down by Spike Island. Proper traditional pub

Yep, unfortunately the Pump House is not a proper pub any more -  last time I was passing a few months ago they had someone outside determined to show you to a table 'to take your order', you couldn't even get near to the bar to choose your pint. I asked them if it was still a pub or not and they had no answer to that, so I moved on.

Pricey too, so why go there when the Nova is more or less next door - great old pub, excellent beer and away fan friendly.... providing the away fans are similarly friendly, of course.

When a group of young Leeds fans approached the pub after a match clearly looking for trouble the City fans on the outside tables just laughed at them and they skulked off sheepishly. Great way to diffuse the situation.

I recall being asked to take off my scarf when in there a few years ago now. It's a proper 'pea puree' place these days.

There's no pub better for away fans in Bristol, no doubt.

There are usually a couple of away fans in the Hen and Chicken.

And like @mattjbsaid, the Cottage usually has a mix of fans. And on a nice day it’s a great place to have a few beers outside, right by the river with the view of the Suspension Bridge.

Ashton Gate is in a great location for nearby pubs.

Thanks Offside added the H&C

I took Joe to play a chess match there a good few years back.  Got to be the worst pub / bar / establishment I’ve ever been in. ???

I seem to recall Millwall fans smashed it up in the L1 GJ days... probably did thousands of pounds worth of improvement!
