RedEd73
20th February 1988. Not a specifically important date in the grand scheme of things. Although very significant to me as it was the first time I attended a match at Ashton Gate. We lost 1-2 to Mansfield. A perfect introduction to life as a Robin. I recall Gordon Owen getting pelters ("Does your missus know you're here???"). And a bloke I was standing close to was on at their goalie (Kevin Hitchcock) for the entire match (Hitchcock, you're #£;7ing sh!73, you'll always be sh!73!! etc). I think Hitchcock moved to Chelsea shortly after. I've been stuck with City ever since . 1

Gordon Owen doesn't have good memories of playing Mansfield. 1
Oh Louie louie
The headline in one paper after Hitchcocks penalty saves was, Hitchcock the master of suspense
Andy sprod
I think I’m Correct in saying Gordon Owen left for personal reasons, on his return the following season he was greeted by a chant of. ” Does your misses know your here, does your misses know your here.”

Oh Louie louie
The real Hitchcock lived close to brisbane road, his house is sadly a petrol station now.
Bristol Oil Services
I wish now we had gone 365 days without a penalty in 1987, would've saved a lot of pain and raised hopes leading to crushing disappointment. 2 3
