Just regarding a question about whether Owers or SPH could play for the first team this season having been on loan in the National League, I see that Harvey Bunker (FGR) played for Scunthorpe on loan in the NL in Feb, has subsequently rejoined FGR and played for then last weekend.  So I’m guessing they are eligible.

I don't know what to make of Owers, he seems to have the engine that Pearson likes, but in that one video he showed two things I haven't seen from him before. He shows real composure to walk that ball out of the penalty area, and that pass is pretty good too (a better defender would probably have dealt with it), but at least he had the vision to see where SPH would be looking to make his run. I think I would want more of those two things for him to make the step up.

I’ve always seen his strengths as breaking up play, being the workhorse.  I always thought his first touch let the ball get away from him, but he can pass it when required.  A good foil for a more expressive CM partner.

I think he could have an EFL career, but at what level I don’t know.

Last summer he was ahead of many others, but a stomach tear during pre-season seemed to set him back.

Is that Tommy Doherty on the right?

And before anybody says anything, Tommy was a great player for us. Could have been even better if it weren't for the booze and fags!!
