I hope that Boro run themselves ragged chasing after the Man City of the Championship, that coupled with the slightly less rest time and the journey down will work in our favour for Monday. :)

Yep, ninety minutes of chasing shadows will do me. The trouble is though, that when a side need `just one win` to go up they invariably take about five games to get it.

If Boro lose or even draw they may consider that they just need to consolidate for the play offs and rest a few.

Hope Boro didnt did tire themselves out tonight as they may need all the points Monday, we drew at their place so we have nothing to fear; would be nice to beat 3 of the top 4 even if all 3 go up and we stay to fight another day. ?

£100m in parachute payments, spent £17m on players when most teams in our division can’t even afford to bring in free transfers.

Pleased for Josh Brownhill but the Championship is a ridiculously stacked deck of cards.

Burnley promoted with 7 games to go.

Great achievement by them.

remember going to Burnley over 50yrs ago...a right hole, fair play to them though they have beem up to the top div more times than us; Dont think there will be many of tonights starters who are still there this time next year apart from our Josh and a couple more at most.

Worth noting that Burnley had quite the mini exodus on relegation despite being impeccably run for years beforehand.

The Parachute Payments system needs massive change but I will give some credit given the exodus, it's not your typical Scott Parker swift bounceback with a lot of PL players still going regularly. Or a Norwich yoyo.

Pope- Sold

Collins- Sold

McNeil- Sold

Cornet- Sold

Weghorst- Loaned out

Mee- Free

Tarkowski- Free

Wood possibly arguably sold in January 2022 and some extent due to MSD loan.

Pieters, Lennon, Vydra all left on trees.

Lowton and Westwood both left in January but didn't play a minute- they were regular first team and first reserve latterly in the PL.

Believe Hennessey and Stephens also departed.

That sort of revamp can either work like a dream or crash and burn spectacularly...usually no real middle ground.
