could the champions league final be moving to united states?

Recommended Posts

  • The title was changed to could the champions league final be moving to united states?

As per the link.

Once the final has been moved out of Europe once what’s to say it won’t happen again, and where would that leave fans of the two clubs contesting the final and who wanted to be there?

Some things are best left alone. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

How difficult is it to, you know, click on the link?

I also read yesterday the head of UEFA stating that a salary cap is on the way and that ‘everybody’ agrees with it.

In the same article it was mentioned that from 2024 transfer fees and wages cannot exceed 70% of turnover.

Quite a change IF true.

And another way that allows the bigger clubs to retain their monopoly just as FFP does.

Jesus. Are they going to reimburse fans for travel expenses and holiday days taken? Of course not, they have zero regard for fans. It's all about the $$$. Pathetic if it goes ahead.

Reminds me of the ill-fated 'Game 39' Game 39 - Wikipedia

Probably easier to get to the States than some of the far flung corners of Europe that have been used recently for Finals.

It depends what they mean by a salary cap although that is notable. Blatter said about 10-15 years ago that no economic system would allow one. Blatter said a lot of things though...accuracy could vary vastly!

Percentage of wages etc is a soft salary cap and can bake in advantages though not entirely.

Hard salary cap could be great, it would very much then put a notable emphasis on caching, clever recruitment, scouting etc. Get rid of seedings too.

Absolutely the best way forward. Seedings skews the competition, yet again favouring the bigger sides. Having said that it was a shame when Nottm Forest and Liverpool were drawn together in the 1st round many moons ago.
