spudski
...Max Dowman. 13 years old and made his debut for Arsenal U18s yesterday in a 4-0 win over Saints. Astonishing. Anyone know what the youngest debut for us is in an age group?
Popular Post cheese
I was 12 when I made my debut on the Ashton Gate turf. Unfortunately a steward then escorted me off. 1 22 1 3
GrahamC
Pretty sure recently we have played at least one 15 year old in the 21s, those who watch those games or are “in the know” can supply more details. Elijah Morrison might possibly be the kiddie? Obvious thing to say but this lad has a lot of his life ahead yet, could pick up an injury or have other issues to deal with, but obvious that he’s incredibly highly rated to be playing for a club like this at such a very young age.

In terms of “what ifs” for certain players thought likely to have a huge future, this story always comes to mind to show how cruel fate can be at times. https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2011/jul/20/im-not-really-here-paul-lake-review 1

I'm fairly sure Yeboah was just 15 when he started getting into the u23 squad a couple of seasons ago
Sydneybcfc
Didn't Marvin Brown get a run out at 16ish? Maybe still our youngest ever player Edited September 24, 2023 by Sydneybcfc

I feel there are a few youngsters that have been close to 16/17 on debut, it used to be a fairly regular as a first pro-deal to the most talented that they'd be guaranteed a first team appearance before they got shipped off to non-league. Our academy didn't produce many that went up the leagues after x appearances with us until recently.

Wedontplayinblue
The club do a few times play 14/15 year olds in the under 23 games, mainly the cup ones but as their names are not known no one on here picks up on it, as let’s me honest there are a lot of kids in the academy. Ziderarmy
I’m my mind way too much pressure is pilled on kids at far too young an age. I help coach my lads team and we were having city and rovers scouting watching our games and picking up kids at under 6 and 7. Just let them enjoy football with their mates for christ sake. We had one lad who’d been released by rovers and forest green and he wasn’t even in double digits. Absolutely ridiculous and kills the kid’s confidence. What happened to that wonder kid at Celtic, Karamoke Dembele? Edited September 24, 2023 by Ziderarmy

Got bollocked by the old man as we missed the football special bus back to Kingswood tho. 1

I was 16 by then and was far too sensible to run on the pitch!
