Big day in sport today

Settled on the sofa with my 5L box of very cheap wine. Just had my Rosette & Cornichon sandwiches and have very stinky cheese (sorry @Dollymarie) to nibble on with TUC bikkies.

Anyway:

City to win would be perfect.  2-1 win for us I think.

Georgia to beat Wales would be great.

England to beat Samoa but not a nailed on and could be closer than we expect.

Ireland to beat Scotland as i think they could win the tournament.

Gas losing is always a welcome bonus.

Other than that the sun is shining and 28 deg

Thought I'd missed something (Big day of sport). Don't give a hoot for the egg chasers, so other than City I can't see anything else to get excited about.

Each to their own. With regards the egg chssers i am more a Rugby League follower but anything to get out of tidying up the wood store. Still take an interest though.

Could Ireland v Scotland be 'contrived' to put the Boks out?

I don't think it would be contrived as such, but it does show why the last games should be played at the same time. Irland could be losing with 10 mins or to go and then arguably they are better off letting Scotland run in more points to knock out South Africa (Ireland would be above SA because of head-to-head so the points difference doesn't matter). I not saying they would do that, but even if that was how it played out questions would be asked.

More mould on the wall, than the cheese.

Believe it or not its not mould but the stone wall where there is a lack of plaster. Not enough mould on the cheese !!

I agree. Samoa were very good today. We took some seriously big hits too. Fiji will be right up for it.

Watching IRE v SCO now. I think Ireland will win, but I strongly expect them to burn themselves out in the knockout stages.

I still have them down to win the tournament.

Think Scotland will run out of legs circa 60 mins. Ireland defence great so far.

I can't see it myself, I still back the French sadly to go on and win La Coup Du Monde (Dupont injury is a bit of a shocker though).

I never write off Scotland so long as Finn Russell is on form.

Very nearly got a 50-22 then.
