Hi all. Looking to buy 2 tickets to see the red roses in March. I want to get best possible seats, ideally with cover. Best seats left seem to be in W12 or E31 but I can’t work out which would be best. Obviously E31 is more central, but I’ve heard the Lansdown stand is better, and has better shelter from wind and rain. Would this be the case for W12? TIA

Yes. The Dolman (where E31 is) tends to be move exposed, especially to the Sun.  The Lansdown is better, mainly because it’s far more modern- though the Dolman is also a fine stand, with a modem concourse.

If you're 5ft 6 or smaller the leg room will be about right in the Dooman.

I'm 5'10" and the leg room in the upper dolman (which would be from what, row 13 onward?) is just about okay. If you're over 6' then you'd appreciate the additional leg room and newer seats in the Lansdown or lower dolman.

If you want to avoid the rain, then you'll want a seat higher than about row 10 in either stand. I'm in row 29 of E31 and the view is great, and 100% dry. Occasionally get sun in the eyes, but usually its not high enough to be a problem now that the Lansdown stand is in the way.

PS If you're overweight like I used to be then the higher Dolman seats might to be small. I had to wedge myself in when I was 18 stone, but now at 14 stone I have room to spare. This might also be an issue if you are seated next to a larger person.
