Mine would be Brian parkin, all-day long, in the words of Brian Clough a clown. He thought he was playing centre half, acculmating in a sending off, and a goal from the free kick, now that did make me smile, anyone else?

Do you mean persona non grata?

Am I the only person who has no idea what this post is about?

We purchased players through a mail order catalogue. When we realised they weren't up to scratch, we used the catalogue's returns procedure to get the transfer fee refunded.

Think that's a fair summary!

Don’t knock it. Those were the days when we were discerning. Along came Mark Ashton who used the Players catalogue and we just ended up with anyone!

Agree, those were the days.

And thanks for reminding me about Mark Ashton's "catalogue" of errors.

I'm leaving to break some more rocks with my sledge-hammer.

OK, I bit and googled Brian Parkin and Nottingham Forest. Took a while but it appears that Parkin was a Goalkeeper who played for many clubs including the Gas. According to worldfootball.net he only played twice against Forest, whilst at Wycombe. I can find no reference to him being referred to as a clown or being sent off. I'm as confused as everyone else.....oh well back to the catalogues.

Fairfax House.  That’s where my Nan use to go to spend her Green Shield stamps.

Not even the ex players forum wants this Thredona non grata!

Probably best off in the green shield stamps sub sub forum!

Maybe heading for ‘old Bristol’ thread territory?! Didn’t there used to be a stand alone Green Shield shop on Castle Street? Next to one of the very first Sainsbury’s?
