A popular manager, John Ward had been replaced by Benny Lennartson and we were (mainly) unhappy. Benny never really had a chance to get us going and this game was typical of his time in that we weren't outplayed but just fell short on the day. Benny was keen on youth development and was a big factor in the progress of Jim Brennan. 26/12/2023. There's enough analysis of yesterday on here already, but clearly we have a different direction of travel. Manning has the chance to build on Pearson's legacy.
