kit
It looks poor but I'm not sure how often there will be a number 44 playing for Germany.

Erithacus
I understand that Adidas have made the national kit for over 70 years, as well as the boots, balls and accessories. Now the authorities have changed to Nike it has stirred up a lot of resentment - the 44 issue being a catalyst for uproar. Add in the involvement the firm had with international competitions for almost as long and you can see why there has been such a reaction. However, the simple expedient was that Nike offered twice the fee that Adidas did; it's simple economics, and the DFB are insisting that the extra money will filter down to the grass roots. Wait - haven't we heard that one before? I also find it rather odd that Germany as a nation has announced that it has legalised cannabis at the same time. Hmmm... One Team
You’d like to think this was just an accident then and its ends here. I do know Adi Dassler was a Nazi party member though, pretty sure all the Dasslers were actually and I think stood trial at the end of the war. And to state the obvious, although Adidas can not sell personalised shirts with the number 44 direct, third party sellers (both legal and otherwise) can still easily do so.
