BBC started even earlier in the morning than that. They always seemed to have a better line up of entertainment too.

Plus it was advert free.

Will be giving my condolences to all the Manchester United fans in Somerset who would have gone to the game but having never watched them play live  can unfortunately not get a ticket

You may need to explain to the youngsters; "1.00 Australian Pools Service".

That 1972 Cup Final was the 100th and if the FA could have chosen two teams for this showcase event, they would not have chosen Leeds and Arsenal as that would be a dull specatcle.

Leeds were a massive team then though and Arsenal are often seen as the 'establishment' club. I'm sure the FA would have been pretty pleased with that as a final.

Found the whole build up to this quite strange.

Little around Man City or the game itself. Everything about ETH. It appears he is gone regardless of the result today. The whole thing is going to turn quite sour.

And many will probably be thinking it should be Coventry v Man C..

I remember Mick Jones breaking his arm crossing for Sniffer Clarke to score the winner

Did he break his arm or dislocate his shoulder ?

David Coleman was the BBC commentator I think.

When a goal was scored he would often just say the scorers surname and the score.

As in this final…”Clarke, one nil”

One nil - iconic

I'll be flicking between the English and Scottish cup finals. Always enjoy seeing Manchester United get beaten and hoping that Celtic Rangers put Rangers Celtic in their place.

Me too.

Just a slight tweak.

I saw a lost Man Utd fan walking around the metro line near the Long Ashton P&R this morning. Most have programmed in Ashton Gate instead of Wembley on his Sat-Nav.
