"Land for a £500m plan to revamp Bristol's Broadmead shopping centre looks certain to be made available.

The city council has issued compulsory purchase orders to help secure all the land needed for the development"

Amazing what can get done when the council want it done.

I do hope this doesn't affect any businesses councilors own in the Centre, wouldn't that be a conflict of interest?

Wouldn't have been good if a football stadium could have been incorparated somewhere into this developement - Now that would have been a decent landmark in are otherwise bleak Town centre

We can never expect a decent 40,000+ football stadium to ever be built in Bristol.

Reasons......

The reality is that the anti-sport Bristol Council is run by a motley collection of corrupt bloated plutocrats, corrupt union offficals and corrupt trendy-lefty social worker types who are nothing more than a load of parasitical, careerist bureaucrats, easing their `radical consciouness' by endlessly promising Bristolians a revamped Bristol City centre and Broadmead shopping centre.

The same can be said of all Bristol's Members of Parliament enjoying an aristocratic self-serving lifestyle at our expense - i.e. via the taxes we work hard to pay. Death to the lot of them!!! That is unless they can get a decent 40,000+ ground built to house us - with terracing as well as seats :P
