just like watching brazil
any news on the brooker situation,no texts at present also do you think he will sign for us,personally i dont think he will but if the offer is a reputed £200,000 vale would me mad to turn it down. Red Sinjen
I can not see it being a straight £200K. I would imagine it would be a fee rising up to £200K depending on appearances, goals, promotion, you know that sort of thing. Probably nearer £150K to begin with. Your right though, Vale can not be in a position to turn it down??
Guest simmos the gaffer
Depending on whether he's settled in the area with family etc (no idea on this one), if so he will probably use our bid to boost his worth in new contract talks. If Vale are limited in what they can offer him, like most clubs, they will probably act quickly cos the further they get through the season his value will drop. He scoring at the mo which will tempt them to keep him. Also it will depend on whether they will have to spend any money rec'd to replace him or will they just put their faith in Matthews as a ready made replacement !! At least City are forcing their hand by insisting on an answer today which means we won't be kept wondering for weeks on end!
Red Cloud
reckon it's dead in the water mate - shame really cause would have been a brilliant signing for us!
i_am_red
No I think if it ale rejected the bid it would have been on the news earlier, but remember it takes a long time for a transfer to go through. Vale might have accepted the bid and he is coming down tomorro? No one knows?
just like watching brazil
just looked on vale site,it said that they bought brooker for £15,000 of watford so even at £150,000 they're still getting 10 times they're money back

screech
He has nothing to gain by joining us, even if Vale agreed a fee with us he doesn't need to join, he has as much chance of getting promoted with them as he does with us. Brooker will be able to get a better salary at Vale now if we don't sign him, he will point to the interest shown in him to get a big pay riise, if we do sign him he will be on better money so it's win win for him whatever he chooses. Personally I think he knows he's better off where he is for the rest of the season and then look for a new club in the summer if he wishes, he can't lose whatever happens, if no one else comes in for him he will still be at Vale on better money! bcfc_gaz
i think that he will stay at vale aswell but I'm not a fan of him anyway becuase he hasnt really scored many goals a season. we need someone who is goin to about 20 goals a season
MATT BCFC
I dont honestly think we will get Brooker even if a bid is accepted but fairplay to the board for attempting to get him. The only reason I think Brooker would join us would be for more money (and probably not that much more).

Seems a bit similar to the Wayne Rooney transfer!
Guest rossitl
agreed. Port Vale will know either way. If Brooker wants to stay he will sign the contract. If he dont, he goes
