Before posting this however I went on a Port Vale message board and found the following message which has resulted in me deciding to give the guy a chance and give Tinman the benefit of the doubt at the moment. "It's tragic, it really is. I know we need money, but Brooker is possibly the hottest prospect in League One, scoring goals, and making his fair share too. Not even 1/4 of a million quid is a joke. Not only does it harm the Vale in terms of playing squad, but it also harms us financially as that is way too low. He should have gone for at least £500,000.
