whooosh
Great article on City in the Bristol Times section of tonights Evening Post looking back at 100 years at Ashton Gate. Wonder what the Evans Halshaw girls look like now! I thought our Mabbutt was Kevin (superstriker) not as reported Gary who played for Spurs and captained England. Do you recognise yourself in the crowd celebrating with Donnie Gillies? Scarves tied around the wrists, ah, those were the days

NATCHER
Of course Kevin Mabbutt, I was there when he scored his hat-trick at Old Trafford all those years ago, and was a member of his Fan Club (thanks bruvs.). John Shaw saved a penalty from one of the Greenhoffs' that same day. Gary Colliers' move to Coventry was the start of the slide that nearly ended this club. Free to leave at the end of his contract he joined The Sky Blues F.O.C. and panic set in culminating in a SEVEN YEAR CONTRACT for Clive Whitehead. Despite the sibling error, the piece in The Evening Post is a good advert for Ashton Gate-100 Years In Pictures, it has some cracking pictures and mentions some genuine legends.
