To me it says that he is rubbish at buying players-instead of looking at bringing in a new player, he tries to buy back someone who he thinks and hopes would do the job for us. I think if I was in his shoes and I was asked if I wanted last seasons best player back, I would probably say yes too. But if nobody had asked we wouldn't know his views at all.
