Frenchay Red Posted December 18, 2004 Report Share Posted December 18, 2004 I guess today demonstrated that we are just not good enough. Luton pretty well dictated the game. They were strong, quick to tackle and close us down, and they moved the ball around well. Also they seemed to have bigger players in key areas which helps as well. We did ok in patches but could never get into the game enough to put them under enough pressure that they might start to lose their shape. They reminded me a bit of Wigan a couple of years ago. You just felt that we were always chasing the game and that they could raise their game a bit more if they had to. Pains me to finally admit it to myself but I can't see anything other than a play-off spot being the best we might hope for. We were very much second best today and will probably scrape a play off place or maybe finish just outside, depending whether our distinctly "average" squad can find any form in the new year.
