jeade
If Matt Hill goes then according to the WDP Ian Evatt is top of the list to replace him. Like Hill he has a clause in his contract that allows him to talk to other clubs and he missed yesterdays game through illness. Heard that one before. No fee mentioned

Nibor
Ian Evatt - soccerbase Ian Evatt - Chesterfield site In case anyone wanted some info, 24 year old defender, 6'3", former derby player (20 or so first team apps), won all the Chesterfield supporters player awards last year. Looks like he could be good but I can't remember seeing him play before. Nibor edit: RedUn beat me to it

jimmyb
Now he and Nelson could make a very effecrtive centre half partnership!!! Either shift coles to right back or ask cardiff if they still want him!!!

Guest jon
My only worry is our record of signing players from Chesterfield; Sean Dyche - looked a great prospect but failed to perform for us. Has gone on to better things Paul Holland - Looked like Paul Gascoigne and even rolled around the pitch in a similar fashion. Coulda been a contender if injury hadn't ended his career. Billy Mercer - The best keeper at the Gate since the 70s until...INJURY ENDED CAREER again. Are we sure that this Evett fella is fit? Taz
Ian made 20 full appearances for the Rams and can be described as a versatile player having played in midfield, defence, as a striker, and even as an emergency goalkeeper. There we go, he could sort out the problems throughout the team then Sounds too good to be true if we are supposedly after him.
