Hill And Get Out Clause

People are saying congratulations on putting a get out clause in his contract, but if in the summer he had not signed would we of got a fee anyway for he is under 24 and out of contract so a fee must be paid to the club i think. My opinion is in the summer he was holding out for a deal one did not come and he took the next best option,2 year deal with us, for if he refused to sign any club would have had to pay a fee and i think we would of got more than 100K for him if Cardiff allegedly bid i think 250K for coles then how much was hill worth.
