myol'man
Surely the chairman is ultimately responsible for the success or failure of any business ( and remember a football club is a business) so as it was his decision to appoint a novice manager, which has backfired spectacularly, it is now time for Lansdown to quit? SL, in my opinion WILL action if things get worse from here on in. I believe he SHOULD be making the moves now,as his credibilty will go the way of Tinnions if action is not swift & decisive. Many fans believe the clear out should be from the top, but where do we find the funds. SL has made himself 'bullitt' proof. But lets hope Tinnion isn't, but I fear we have him for some time yet. City Exile
Lansdown keeps this club afloat with his money. He could spend it on what he wants, but he chooses to spend a proportion of it on this club. If he saw BCFC purely as a business, he would not invest it in. Luckily fo us, he seems to feel rather passionately about it. If he quits, we could be a Wrexham within a year. My view, for what it is worth, it that we are VERY lucky to have him. There has been a procesion of local businessmen who have been happy to invest in BCFC, to grab their bit of local fame, and hope for a bit of glory if they lead us back to the promised land of the "championship". Kew, Russe, Davidson, Coller, Laycock have had their 5 minutes in the spotlight, and if Landsdown quits there would soon be someone else to pick up the poisoned chalice. What a pile of manure - SL is the best thing for this club but his ambition of trying to build the club from within is being halted by some staffing issues - namely a clique of players, an inexperienced manager and a lack of a footballing director who can answer his questions as to what is going right and what is going wrong. BT can see the issues with his playing staff but lacks the respect and experience to ensure that his solutions have the immediate desired affect. SL is in top 100 richest in the country - who you going to replace him with?
