Guest S_M_U_D_G_E
Clueless. We have a squad of nearly 30 professional players. Tinnion has played 27 different players aready this season and we are only into Feb. Yeovil have 22 players. We have no injuries, only 4 players suspended. One of which (Tinnion) is not going to pick himself and is retiring. Of the other 3 one is right back, of which we have 2 others - Carey & Amankwaah. The other 2 are midfielders Orr, Dinning. Dinning wasn't in the 1st team anyway, so it is just a case of putting another player on the bench and as for Orr, we have Doherty, Wilkshire & Brown who can play in centre midfield. What has the suspenions got to do with needing a loan signing? He then goes on to say that the balance is all wrong and we need a left sided midfielder. Does this mean that he doesn't like either, Bell, Goodfellow, Harley, Anyinsah or Wilkshire (who has scored 8 goals from 25 games on the left of midfield this season). If this is the case, then we might as well sell them. If I was Lansdown, I would tell Tinnion "you have had over 1/2 million to spend aswell as inheriting a squad that has finished 3rd two years running. No we are not going to pay some extortionate wage for yet another journey man. If you can't get us up/in play offs with the resources you have already, then I will find someone that will" Whats wrong with:- Phillips Carey, Ireland, Fortune Murray, Brown, Doherty, Wilkshire, Bell Lita, Brooker Subs - Goodfellow, Heffernan, Gillespie (all of which could play instead of Lita, Brown and Bell), Coles, a youngster. If (when) Doherty gets knackered, stick Coles on and put Fortune as the holding midfielder. I've put Bell in, as being away, it is slightly more defensive than having Goodfellow and Murray playing. Goodfellow could easily play instead of Murray if you wanted. And Gillepsie could play behind the front 2, whilst Heffernan is unlucky not to have played more with Brooker. I think Heffernan would take more chances than Lita, but Lita works harder and a bit more lively when bothered. Still, Tinnion knows best and will probably spend £10k on a loan players wages for the next month for someone no better than what we have.
