Steve Watts
....but it just seems that this is the place it's most likely to be read quickest! Does anyone know how I get rid of this? I've run a scan on Norton and it's not detected any viruses, but my computer had said that this virus had infected it. Everytime I open internet explorer I get a different search engine and changing my home page does no good when starting up again. Anyone have any advice on this. Thanks ladies and gents (and apologies again for posting this here). HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!
Guest Meados
Have you updated Norton with the latest virus definitions? It is recognised on their website and is included in an update. Other than that go to http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcen...byteverify.html that will allow you to download the definition for that particular virus. Good luck. Steve Watts
I tried the symatec proceedure, but gotta admit I'm a bit of an amateur when it comes to this sort of thing, and kinda got lost on the whole definitions thing....I'll have a look at updating Norton now. Thanks Meados.
mitchg
Just a thought i have Norton and along side it i run avg virus software they have a free one which is very good http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_index.php they will run in tandom ok without any problems i have been running this for a few years now. Another well worth program is window washer. This will get rid of anything hiding in your tempory files and has helped me delete one or two virus's in the past also. Sometimes in the temp files the file might be running so norton etc will not be able to delete. But run window washer then norton or avg and i am sure they will blast the little ****er for you Hope this is of some use to you.
