sirscrumpton
I saw Closer for the first time this evening and i thought it was very good, though slightly depressing. It seemed to be the opposite of Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind. For me Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind was all about the journey in a relationship, good or bad. As a result although the ending was sad there was some grounds for optimism in there. Closer on the other hand didn't look at the journey at all, just the endings, and imo is very sad, but does it very well. As a result i feel like sticking on some Radio Head for the first time in ages. Jude Laws performance is the stand out for me, closely followed by superb performances by both Natalie Portman and Clive Owen, both of whom i would like to see win Oscars for their roles. Julia Roberts was good, but the level of performance from the rest of the cast put her in the shadows. Shame Jude Law got very little recognition for his performance. elhombrecito
As much as I love Natalie Portman (and, trust me, that is a lot ) I thought the film was very poor indeed. I would go more in depth but I'm in a hurry! Maybe tomorrow......
