ChubStixx
Was interesting seeing David James play up front for Man City yesterday. Picture HereTo be fair he won a few headers, not surprising at 6ft 5" or something.Anyway, has anything similar happened with us?Wonder if Phillips is any good outfield? andy g
If only we could play strikers as goalkeepers too.At the moment we have Cotterill, Gillespie, Miller, Brooker, Lita, Heffernan on the books as strikers and just one goalie.Alternatively how about Bradley Orr in goal ? Its the only position he hasn't volunteered to play in already...
Guest Tactical Genius
I notice that Stuart Pearce waited until he had been given the job full time before deciding to leave a striker on the bench so that he could move his goalkeeper upfield. And people wonder why clubs are increasingly looking to foreign coaches. Guest hairyshamrock
I think its the typical thinking outside the box that we all need to liven up football in this country. Everyone will remember the incident and what happened who saw it or heard about it yesterday. Quality, bring on more english coaches, or any nationality for that matter, who will not do everything by the book. It was a big risk, with little at stake (except the slight possibly of european football next season) so why not try something a little off the wall? City Exile
I thought the best line was afterwards when Pearce said something to the affect of "he caused a great deal of confusion to the opposition... and in fairness us'.
downendcity
I don't know about playing him as a striker, I bet Pearce wishes he'd instructed him to take penalties as well!

Ashcott Boy
But if Fowler would have scored the penalty people would have called it a masterstroke by Pearce.
