jimtastic
So, White Horse bridge beat off the likes of Alf Ramsey, Bobby Charlton and Geoff Hurst:http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/4574683.stmAnyone else reckon there's been vote rigging from non-Englanders? Sure, White Horse is a decent name with a nice story behind it, but hardly anyone living can remember the event in question. That said, I'd personally have bypassed footie completely and gone for Live Aid - no nationalistic connotations, and an event which brought the world together (well, 2 billion of them anyway). Rich-TWSC-
I was certainly suprised with the winner. But I won't argue with it... Good story as above poster said. I would have preferred the Don Rogers Bridge! Has the arch at Wembley Station been named yet?
