Lordofthebling Posted January 15, 2004 Report Share Posted January 15, 2004 Brighton seems to have snapped up a bargain for the future in Leon Knight and now have Trevor Benjamin off Leicester on loan - i really have no opinion about this, but i was just wondering if you lot thought we should be doing more of this type of business, following in Brightons footsteps, or are you happy as we are?! Guest pogue mahone Posted January 15, 2004 Report Share Posted January 15, 2004 leon knight was an inspired bit of business, but only became available because of chelsea's ever expanding squad. the problem with loan course of action is that you have to keep finding decent loan signings every season or it doesn't work. bournemouth and huddersfield both nearly gained promotion with defoe and knight respectively. however the following season without their star loanee they got relegated to the basement. So how come the managerial merry-go-round at Brighton managed to persuade him there & our managerial stability couldn't sell the delights of a first team place at Bristol?
