Never to the dark side
Football league state Boxing day matches are hand picked, all I can say is some one has got it in for Bristol City.Unless, some one does not want us to be at Home on Boxing dayI wonder who does not want us to be at Home on boxing day?Teams that could have been hand picked this season could have beenBrentford v Swansea 180 milesGillingham v Bristol City 161 milesSwindon v Colchester 152 miles
Steve Watts
I don't want City to be home on Boxing Day! I've got TWO bleeding birthdays to fit in on boxing day, so us being away always makes that a whole lot easier!
headhunter
I think the powers that be are trying to save on the cost of policing.City vs Swindon on Boxing Day would be classfied as a Category A game with maximum policing at 3 x the normal cost as it is a Bank Holiday.Frustrating but understandable [this is why Nottm Forest away has been switched from Bank Hol Mon to Tuesday evening
Never to the dark side
So I woud like to know why Yeovil Town get preferential treatmentover Bristol City by our (alledgly same police force, the Avon and Zummerset) With Yeovil Home to bournmouth on Boxing Day distance 44 milesUnless the boys in blue in the southern section of the Avon and Zummerzetknow what thier doing, as opposed the the Northern softies of the Avon and Zummezet police section
Guest hairyshamrock
Frustrating but understandable [this is why Nottm Forest away has been switched from Bank Hol Mon to Tuesday evening←No, thats because of the fact there is a Cricket match over the road (something to do with some bails that were burned and some bunch of blokes travelling half way round the world or something...?!) BCFCSteve
To be fair, we have had more home games than Rovers on the opening and closing days of each season, so that is how it probably levels out because of thier needs as well

spongebob
I've said this before and i will say it again. We played Shrewsbury at home on boxing day a few years back a long trip, we beat them 4-1. Over the years every team has or will have a run of games on boxing day away from home. Anyway the roads are quieter on boxing day usually so it don't take as long. Apart from last yar of course.
