Percy Parrot
yes it should have been a penalty. But it wasn't. I have a great deal of admiration for Michael Owen but today at White Hart Lane Owen's instinctive appeal for a penalty, that was then turned down probably cost Liverpool a point. Despite the handball the ball was still right in the path of Owen and within his stride. Just two yards out and the keeper to beat he still could have scored and he SHOULD have done. Had he not insisted on appealing to the ref I'm sure he would have scored. A lesson for all footballers.
TinnionForEngland
Very true. He shouldn't have stopped and it probably was a penalty but perhaps he knew he would be taking it so wanted to get the pen just to step up?
