RedTop
Fingers crossed. I know we've been burned in the past with injured players, but provided he's not after exhorbitant money and passes a STRINGENT medical, he's got to be worth a go provided we don't commit too much money long-term before finding out if he can still hack it. BrotherErnieFromBarrowGurney
Why is Sunderland's website so difficult to read? Do they make it blurred to compensate for the brown ale?
Guest Neo
Article at above link for lazy people! Michael Bridges is poised to end his association with Sunderland after it emerged that the out-of-favour striker has opened talks with Bristol City with a view to a move to Ashton Gate.Despite a shortage of attacking talent at the Stadium of Light, Bridges has found himself surplus to requirements in Mick McCarthy's squad and did not travel with the first-team squad to North America last week.Hartlepool had been keen to recruit the 26-year-old, yet it seems Bridges could be heading to the West Country to form a partnership with Marcus Stewart - his former Wearside team-mate - with Robins officials confident they will get their man.Discussions are understood to be underway as the two parties attempt to agree terms and it seems the striker could have left before Sunderland's players return to the North-East on Monday.Bridges has more top-flight experience than any striker on the Black Cats books but has still been shown the door while McCarthy puts his faith in the likes of Daryl Murphy whose sole experience has come in the Irish League.Whether it turns out to be a mistake remains to be seen. But Bridges remains adamant he can prove his fitness and get his career back on track.
