bcfcnick
Possible changes that would bring goals and still keep a solid formation.1) Bring Smith into central midfield and put Harley out on the left.2) Look to play Gillespie up front with Brooker. BT said his link-up play needed working on - so did Lita's but he played every match. Gillespie can supply pace and goals and give an unpredictable edge to the build up.3) Difficult to drop Skuse but he is not going to add tha many goals from midfield so use him to play along Heywood in central defence. He would link defence and midfield well. Scott Brown can add the tenacity for midfield with Smith who scored his goals last year from a central midfield position. Harley has looked classy when I have seen him.4) Woodman looks to have done okay but to add a bit more pace then Scott Golbourne has to be considered.5) If it is goals we are after then an in-form Murray has to come into the equation. It's hard on Cotteril but he Stewart and Bridges will still see plenty of action this season. There could be a case for playing Stewart alongside Gillespie as Sunderland fans have said Stewart played his best alongside a pacy forward rather than a target man.Got to be brave to drop Stewart and Bridges to the bench but they will still have a big part to play. Team with goals, pace and width while still retainng a solid feel to it for me would be : PhilipsCarey Skuse Heywood GolbourneMurray Brown Smith Harley Brooker GillespieBench: Partridge Coterill , Stewart, Bridges, Rusell/Wilkshire
