SUICIDE ROW MP SACKED

A Liberal Democrat MP has been sacked from the party's front bench for saying she could have become a suicide bomber.

Dr Jenny Tonge had repeatedly said she understood why militant Palestinians were driven to carry out the attacks.

And Dr Tonge insisted that living in the Middle East could have driven her to do the same.

Lib Dem leader Charles Kennedy said he had now asked her to stand down as the party's spokeswoman for children.

"Her recent remarks about suicide bombers are completely unacceptable," Mr Kennedy said in a statement. "They are not compatible with Liberal Democrat party policies and principles.

"There can be no justification, under any circumstances for taking innocent lives through terrorism.

"I am sorry to lose Dr Tonge from the frontbench team. She will continue to represent her constituency on the backbenches of the House of Commons."

Mr Kennedy had been under mounting pressure to act as a defiant Dr Tonge stood by her remarks, first made at a pro-Palestinian lobby in Parliament on Wednesday.

What a shocking comment to make, it worries me how far this nutter has managed to get in politics.

I don't think she is a nutter. What would you do if you were a Pallestinian ? knowing there is no hope while the Us support her friend next door. You could get killed at any time by US built helicopter gunships, because the Israeli's think that there may well be a possible terrorist within 300 miles, so see it as reason to flatten an entire town.

it's strange that the Israelies have learnt their tactics from those that did so much to exterminate them.

Quite right Spud55, the Israelis (Jews) learned their tactics from Nazi text books and are using these tactics against the Christian and Muslim populations of Palestine (known as Israel since 1948 when the British withdrew from its Palestinian 'mandate territory').

I think the main reason for the USA's attack on Iraq was due to the fact that Saddam Hussein openly stated that he would smash Israel. The USA, via its Jewish population, sends the most aid in support of the Jewish state of Israel and Jewish lobby groups in the USA demanded that the USA smash Saddam's regime. Nothing's changed since biblical times when the 12 tribes of Israel were in a permanent state of war with their Arab neighbours !!!!!

I agree, wlthough there is one factual innacuracy that i would like to point out. The Jewish lobby actually has little to do with the US putting masses of aid into Israel. I always thought that this was the case as well, but it is actually middle america, the home of the christian nutjobs who believe Israel is there for the Jewish people and wan't to uphold it at all costs.

The Jewish lobby has the power but does not ecercise it much at all in this case. They are like many of the Jews that were present in Pallestine before 1948, they are quite happy to co exist with the Muslims and have actually fought side by side for many, many years, since the crusades i think. It is the european Jews that exxacerbated the problem.

While I don't really have too much sympathy for Israel, I have none for the Palestinian state either. Untill they crack down on the nutters not only in their political system, but also walking their streets I think a huge wall and countermeasures are fully justified.

Maybe one thing though, those fundamentalist jews in the settlements should be forced back inside Israel.

What attacking whole villages with the most powerful helicopter gunships man has ever built, because of 1 terrorist is justified ?

I do not have much sympathey for either side, but israel goes so far overboard with their reactions that they incur the only reaction possible from the pallestinians.

I agree about the settlers, they should be put back in ther own country, mabye that would halt any attacks for long anough for the pallestinians to crack down, which is something that they have not been doing adequately.

I can understand where you're coming from with the Helicopters but as you said "with the most powerful helicopter gunships" which also have the most precision. I think the Israelis go for targets of opportunity, targets that if taken out, will take no more innocent lives.

What you're now seeing is a war of attrition between Jew and Arab. The Jewish population in Israel/Palestine was recently bolstered by Jews leaving the former Soviet Union. The Jews are outnumbered by the Arabs in the middle East and so the Jews cannot afford to lose any war against an Arab state and certainly can't afford to lose more lives. Or else Israel will soon cease to exist. Long term, a settlement is the best hope for the Jewish state in the middle East.

Surely the best hope for a long term survival would be a peacful co-existence? Unfortuantly the outspoken die hards on both sides will continue to maintain a culture of hatred.

This might interest you all.........

The first large groups of Jews came to England from France in 1066 at the invitation of William the Conqueror. He felt that Jews, with their crafts and financial skills, would boost the English economy. Because it was considered wrong for Christians to engage in money lending, the role fell to the sons of Israel. In the years that followed, ruthless kings taxed Jews unmercifully, forcing them to raise the interest they charged on loans. This led to resentment on the part of borrowers.

In outbreaks of anti-Semitism Jews were accused of blood rituals and massacred. Their lending records were conveniently destroyed during these outbreaks. In 1217, they were forced to wear yellow badges. By 1290, they had been taxed so heavily that they were no longer of use to Edward I. Besides, he could do business with the Knights Templars. Edward expelled the Jews from England.

For 365 years, it was illegal for an Israelite to live in England. A few Marranos (Portuguese converts to Christianity) reentered the country in the early 1600s. The Marranos flourished and sought to change the restrictive law.

When Rabbi Menasseh ben Israel approached Oliver staunch royalist with a seven-point plan in November 1655, the Protector determined to ask for readmission of the Jews. He recognized their benefit to English commerce and intelligence gathering.

staunch royalist asked his Council to decide the issue. The Council set up a committee. The committee invited a number of ministers, merchants and justices to help them with its decision. Between December 4 and 18th, this Conference met in Whitehall. staunch royalist attended each session and expressed himself in favor of readmitting the Jews.

Most of the members of the committee, including the clergy, resisted staunch royalist. However, two judges gave it as their opinion that the law did not forbid Jews to settle in England.

By this day, December 14, 1655, it was evident the committee would never come to a decision. On the 18th, staunch royalist dismissed the conference, letting the members know that he intended to admit the Jews unofficially if necessary. All the committee managed to do was to draw up a paper recommending that if Jews were readmitted to England, they be prevented from defaming Christianity or working on the Lord's day. They should not hold office, employ Christian servants or seek to convert Christians to Judaism. None of this became law.

After that, the Semites came to England in increasing numbers. There have been as many as a quarter of a million. For the most part, Britain's Jews have been well-treated since 1656.

According to scripture (Zachariah), whoever touches the Jews, touches the apple of God's eye. Does this also mean that those who help the Jews prosper? Jews have benefited Britain. Many served in Parliament and one, Benjamin Disraeli, became a notable Prime Minister. More to the point, British Jews helped fulfill Bible prophecy. English Jews, such as Moses Montefiore, were strong supporters of the Zionist movement which resettled Jews in Israel, and Chaim Weizmann, the first president of the state of Israel, was British.

I often wonder if these morons that support the bombers had their own sons and daughters blown to peices in the mannor below, would they be so supportive? I expect these are the same people that would roll down for the IRA.

I've picked out a few choice segments.

"Police say the bomb was packed with high explosives and metal fragments designed to caused maximum casualties. "

"There was a huge explosion, smoke and pieces of the bus and body parts were flying everywhere. It was horrible," a witness told Israeli radio. "

The MP's in Parliament are themselves top targets for suicide bombers. Hence the concrete slabs that ring the Houses of Parliament to stop bombs in vehicles being driven into the walls of Parliament.
