March-ish 1999, City vs Birmingham at AG, City needing 3 points to keep up with the other teams in the drop zone. Peter Ndlovu goes past Mickey Bell, and with about a foot between them, goes down like a sack of spuds. The ref awards the penalty, and Birmingham end up winning 2-1.

Was that the game Mike Dean reffed?

There is only one winner in this category. The Worst Refereeing decision at Ashton Gate was the sending off of the ball boy! No Joke! can't remember who we were playing (or who the referee was), but I recall standing in the East End watching the Ref taking retribution on the youngster and sent him packing. It wasn't clear what his offence actually was, but the Ref needed a Police escort from Ashton Gate, the Sunday papers were full of it, and Danny Baker blew his top on his 606 show when another City fan phoned in to explain what had happened.

Penalty for us about 4/5 years ago (port vale?) when we had a free kick about 5 yards outside the box, to the right, in front of the Atyeo.

I think Mickey Bell (possibly) took and it struck the wall. Everyone carried on as per (including us) when the ref suddenly gave a penalty, brilliant!

Also when we beat Plymouth 1-0 on a tuesday night at their place two years ago. Someone ran down the left (towards us) and tried to cross it in, as they did woodman or burnell tried to slide in, foolishly stuck a hand in the air and the ball struck it. We all thought it was a penalty, they were jumping up and thinking it was a penalty, then the ref gave a corner. We were jumping up and down with delight as we couldn't believe we got away with it, brilliant!

When we played Hartlepool at home in August a few seasons back. Lee Peacock ballooned the ball 30 yards into the air in an attempt to clear it, but instead sent it backwards. Steve Phillips caught it and the referee gave a backpass! Maybe not as costly as some of the others, but the worst decision I have ever seen at the Gate.

That was against Preston in the promotion season. Goodridge got a last minute winner, I believe.

I'd go for either the Cambridge LDV semi, or Tinman seeing red against Cardiff after Ivan had rocket ruled out.
