When Is Good Enough, Old Enough?

The story on the offish site about Benyon states he will travel with the squad, but is unlikely to take part, fair enough, but we are always hearing that our youngsters aren't quite old enough, whereas Rooney, Beckham, Giggs, Owen, Scholes etc. etc. have broken into first teams at a higher level at 17/18.

Are City too cautious with their academy prospects?

Yeh, i heve never seen him but he looks small on the pictures

I don't remember Michael Owen being 6' 2" and 13 stone when he burst on the scene at 17 years of age.

If he's got enough ability and is quick then Benyon is old enough. Comparisons with Owen and Rooney are unfair, as these are pretty unique players, who come along once in a blue moon.
