City Exile
Lets be honest, its a while since we have been in one. But in one right now we are.And if we are to succeed, then the mentality simply has to change, and damn quick. All this - we are bigger than them and should win. A couple of wins and we are pushing for a play off, simply has to go for now. Its all ways of saying 'we are to good to go down'. Right now we are not.So, for those of you of a certain age, like me, who have been through a few in our time, what are the tips? My few to start with are:- accept every point gained as a bonus. A fighting home draw against a team at the top is a good result. Praise the team for it;- get behind the team. By defination, they are one of the poorer ones, so support helps!- belief. Leave the blame for when it can do some good. Do not allow the club to implode with negativity and self doubt.Any more?
Guest REDCIDERARMY
Absolutely correct, now is the time to get right behind the team,no barracking or it gets worse less confidence and even our better players become worse,we have to win our home games to stay up so stick right behind them now
Admin Maesknoll Red Posted October 26, 2005 Admin Report Share Posted October 26, 2005 Have a stiff drink or two before the game - they are usually dour affairs when in a relegation fight.
One Team In Keynsham
Any more?Go to your bedroom, lock the door, hide loaded revolver somewhere in far corner of bedroom, close the curtains, turn-off the lights, disconnect the phone, turn off the TV and radio. Stay there until someone gives the secret knock on the door advising that we are mathematically safe*. Exit room to the beauty of a fine late spring afternoon, have a couple of drinks to celebrate, go to a few games at the end of the season, spend the summer with a misplaced sense of optimism, wait until GJ is sacked around October 2006, watch new manager screw things up, retreat back to bedroom.* If knock never comes, and you have a strange feeling that its already May, scramble around in dark for revolver. It may be the option of least pain in the long run.
