Guest Harry Dolman
Lets be honest we were all wrong. Look at the team last night:Phillips - good shot stopper - poor on crossesOrr - hardly in double figures of appearances & a novice right back.Sankofa - on loan - decent but not a big ugly ball winnerPartridge - unbelievably inconsistentFortune - actually I quite like CF, but he/we can't find his best position - novice left backBrown - hardly in double figures of appearances - not a left wingerSkuse - hardly in double figures of appearnces - doesn't dominate enoughWilkshire - sublime/anonymous depending on his mood - usually the latter away from homeCotterill - hardly in double figures of appearances, struggling to find his best position & lacks end productMurray - form is on the up, but has struggled for confidence since returning.Quinn - on loan - appears decent so far.Does anyone really think the rest of league 1 is trembling at the prospect of facing that team ?? Yes we will be stronger when Heywood, Stewart & especially Brooker return - but it shows, when everyones fit we probably have a decent 1st 11 (but a very inexperienced midfield) but we have very little depth.Too many people want to say "it Tinnions fault" or "Lansdowns to blame for appointing Tins/selling Lita" or even more bizzarely "Johnson out" - all we can ask for right now is progress & under GJ we are making progress, not as fast as some might like (in many ways his crime was winning the 1st 2 games & creating an air of expectancy) but still progress. What we are seeing is a typical pattern under a new manager - immediate good results (how many times have we lost to a team with a brand new manager... loads!!) but then slipping into some bad habits. I am pretty confident that GJ will turn us around, but sadly it aint going to be an overnight job.
