Tunley Legend
Not a bad shout although I do disagree with Murray. We have got to be tough and avoid being sentimental (I'm not suggesting that is your reason for keeping him). Murray has performed to a generally poor standard since he came back and I'm afraid two half decent games isn't enough to convince me that he should stay.Despite what you say, Fortune could do a job in the right position but we haven't got the time to instil the necessary "bottle" (excuse the term!!) in him. And Stewart should be given until the end of the season for his "class to shine". If not, £7k per week is a lot for non-performances.

reddevil
Its always interesting to read these threads, how do you suggest we actually get these players out.Agree entirely with the sentiment but I can't see a long queue of other clubs who are going to pick up the contracts of these players so unless you fancy paying some pretty substantial in settlements or are going to fund loans elsewhere I don't see it happening. That is assuming you could get takers, looking at the list I could only realistically suggest Gillespie would attract a league two side with maybe Woodman and Fortune at a stretch.Unfortunately unless GJ can drag some diamonds from eastern europe or south america this season is shaping up like more of the same, anyone fancy 7th place again?? preston red
Yep, agree with most of what's been said. Can't understand why PNE wanted Fortune so badly. We should of let him go. Would like to see Quinn come in, if he can live up to the reputation he brings with him. Would also like to see Goldbourne get a run in the team when he's fully fit. The other one I'd change is Murray. He would get the axe as well for not being up to it for a long time and is, as most people know, a major player within the drinking culture at the club.Easier said than done though aint it! mike11
I can,t see too many disagreeing with you on your ins and outs and final team.Just a couple of things though.I notice you,ve left Russell out[no surprise there].Once he is fit,he has to be given a go.If he is as good as people say then he could be crucial to us,especially with Wilkshire being involved with the Aussies.Speaking of which. If Wilks manages to get to the World Cup and actually plays,[and plays well]and we are still in this poxy division, which is looking a near certainty, there is no way he will be with us next season.Apart from his team-mates getting into him,he isn,t the battling type and Johnson must realise by now that as well as playing fast direct football at home, you have to get stuck in and fight for every ball away, and Wilkshire isnt up to that, never has been never will.Brown has to be played in the middle, along with an experienced midfielder[Russel?] for the rest of this season,to gain the experience he is going to need for next season,s undoubted promotion push.Same applies to Golborne and Skuse.Golborne at left back and Skuse as a centre-back.Play Cotterill in the home games.Teach him to play with his head up and when and when not to take players on.Add a couple of GJ,s signings in January, giving the squad half of this season and all pre-season to become a unit.,and there you have it!...League 1 Champions 2006/2007..........easy innit? Swindon Hater
Although he's a good footballer, Wilkshire to me is a liablity, too inconsistent and is not the type of player who will not be interested in away games at Chesterfield etc. on cold Tuesday nights. Geesus the City fan
I cant believe the stick that Wilkshire is getting, this lad has quality that should be encouraged. Top goal scorer from midfield and most assists consistantly - what more can he do?I think people should look to whose alongside him in midfield, not being critical of Skuse but hes still very young especially in this division.ureds
